Athletes/Artists Visa - Vitem III

Please read carefully the General Information page before applying for any type of visa. That page contains important information that is common to all types of visa.

Eligibility

This type of visa can be issued to all persons who wish to travel to Brazil to take part in artistic, performing arts or sporting events in which there is an admission fee, financial compensation or prize money.

Prior to applying for this type of visa, applicant or his/her sponsoring agent/company/ organizer in Brazil must submit a contract directly to the Brazilian Ministry of Labor (Coordenação-Geral de Imigração do Ministério do Trabalho- CGIg), specifying exact nature and terms of the professional activity to be performed in Brazil. Temporary-III visa applications can only be processed with submission of approved contract.

Atheletes/Artist Visas (Vitem III) are valid for stays in Brazil of up to 90 days from the date of first entry; the Federal Police Department can issue an extension for another 90 day period

Required Documents

A Passport, valid for at least 6 (six) months and containing at least 2 (two) blank visa pages.

One recent individual passport size photograph (2x2 inches), in color or black and white, front view, full face, taken against a light background.

One Visa Application Form (PDF), duly filled-out (items 1 through 27) and signed, in the original (for stays longer than 30 days please submit 2 application forms and 2 photos); the Consulate will not accept forms sent by Fax.

For applicants under the age of 18 not traveling with both parents or legal guardian(s), a notarized letter of consent signed by parents or legal guardian(s) authorizing the applicant to travel to Brazil.

Fees

The fee for a Athletes/Artists Visa (Vitem III) is US $40.00 (US Postal Money Order Only) for all citizens.

United States citizens will be charged an additional non-refundable processing fee of US $130.00 per visa, in reciprocity to an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a Visa to the United States.

A non-refundable handling fee of US $10.00 per visa applies to visa applications submitted by mail or by any other person other than the applicant or an immediate family member.

Payments accepted only in US Postal Service money order payable to Consulate General of Brazil, or receipt provided by the ATM machine located at the Consulate's main lobby. The ATM only accepts cash and charges US$ 1.00 for the service.
