INTERNATIONAL VACCINATION CERTIFICATE
Applicants
who have visited any of the countries listed below within the
previous 90 days, must present a Yellow Fever International
Certificate upon entering Brazil:

Yellow
fever vaccination is recommended if applicant intends to visit one
of the following regions in Brazil: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Federal
District, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará,
Rondônia, Roraima, Tocantins.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
-
Business Visa holders are not
allowed to engage in any paid activity under employment contract
with a Brazilian entity. This visa allows the bearer to stay in
Brazil for up to 90 days, renewable by the immigration
authorities for more 90 days. The total stay in Brazil cannot
exceed 180 days per year.

Bearers of a Business Visa
intending to stay in Brazil for longer than 90 days must request
at the Federal Police Department in Brazil an extension within
the first 30 days of their first entry into the country;
PROCESSING TIME
Please, plan your trip accordingly, in
order to have your visa issued on time. We do not expedite visa.
In case of emergency, please come in person to the Consulate with
all supporting documentation.
By mail:
10 business days. It also applies to
those who submit their application in person but leave an Express
mail in order to have their document returned by mail.
In person: 3 business days.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1)
Original passport (valid
for at least 6 (six) months prior to its expiration date). The
passport must have at least 2 (two) blank visa pages;
2)
One recent individual
passport photo, full-frontal, white background;

One electronic visa application form - click

Please, make sure to provide full information, even those
supposedly not required. If you leave any field blank, we may
request you to provide that information what could cause your
application to be delayed or even refused.
Glue your picture (DO NOT STAPLE
IT!) and sign on the appropriate field.
4)
Notarized letter from
the employer of sponsoring company, clearly stating the precise
nature of business, dates of arrival and departure, and financial
responsibility for the costs of the trip (the letter must be on an
official company letterhead or stationary, signed by a senior
manager, introducing the applicant and specifying his/her
job/position in the company). Signature must be notarized.
Invitation letter from the Brazilian party must also be notarized
in a “Cartório” in Brazil and presented to the Consulate in its
original. Neither faxed nor emailed letter is accepted. Although
this invitation is not required at first, the Consular Officer may
request it on his/her discretion as deemed necessary;

Applicants intending to
take part in the production/ filming of documentary, commercial or
advertisement videos or motion pictures must submit a permit from
the Ministry of Culture (Secretaria para o Desenvolvimento
Audiovisual), which is to be obtained by the interested party's
agent/representative in Brazil prior to the issuance of the visa;

International Certificate (when applicable);
7)
Those applying either by
mail or by a third party must present proof of residence within
the jurisdiction of this Consulate (Florida, Puerto Rico, US
Virgin Island): Driver’s License or any recent utility bill –
issued within the past 90 days);
Brazilian citizens
must travel to Brazil on a Brazilian passport. Those who have
renounced the Brazilian citizenship must present proof.
FEE
-
The fee has to be paid by US
Postal Money Order OR receipt provided by the ATM machine
located at the Consulate's main lobby. The ATM only accepts cash
and charges US$ 1.00 for the service.

check or any other form of payment not listed above.

*Attention: if you are
applying for an immediate family member, you are not required to
pay the handling fee of US$ 20.00.
VISAS BY MAIL
-
Please allow 12 (twelve) business
days for processing of visa application and return of passport,
not including transit time. This processing time applies from
the moment application is received at the Consulate.

Inquiries about the status of your
visa application will only be provided if the processing time
required by this Office has passed. Please confirm at the Post
Office with your tracking number the exact date your application
was received at the Consulate, otherwise consular officers will
not be able to provide you with any information.

The Consulate will receive
correspondence sent by the U.S. Postal Service as well as all
courier services (address the envelope to the attention of the
Visa Section). However, the Consulate will only return documents
via the U.S. Postal Service Express Mail. Applicants must
therefore enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for the
return of their documents.

Incomplete or incorrect
applications will be returned to sender.

The Consulate will not accept
envelopes which contain more than one application. Such
envelopes will be returned except when the documents belong to
members of the immediate family.

The Consulate is not responsible
for delayed, lost or stolen mail.
