“A painting it’s a true connection to the divine in
us”. Anna Mallmann is an Artist and Architect. She grew up
in the southern part of Brazil, in the city of Porto Alegre. It’s
cosmopolitan rhythm and the cold and bucolic winters inspired her to
create. Images and forms always fascinated her and what was just a
passion became very much her life. She began painting at the age of
10, inspired by the paintings of her mother and her aunts. Later she
engaged into Art School - UFRGS University followed by Architecture
School - UniRitter University and a Design Specialization in Europe
- Instituto Europeo Di Design, Italy. During her many years of
studying art and working with creation, she explored various
painting techniques which made her transition from Abstract to
Neo-cubism very easy. Ranging from Colorful Organic Forms in daily
portraits of life to Abstract Landscapes, her work has traveled the
world, from Brazil to Japan, from Europe to Israel, becoming part of
many private and corporate collections. In 2000 she moved to the
United States and lives in Florida, where her work continues to
blossom by what inspires her the most, life itself.
Author and Composer of children's literature, plays and
songs.
She has a B.F.A. in Visual Arts from the Escola de Belas
Artes
(School of Fine Arts) at the Universidade Federal do Rio de
Janeiro and has completed various extensive courses with
specialization in painting, lithography, ceramic and fashion design
along with courses in Animation at the Universidade Pontificia
Catolica do Rio de Janeiro with the group Anima Mundi. Her works
create a great sense of identity with the public and are appreciated
and admired in various countries. She lives and works in Hollywood,
Florida. Some of her works can be viewed on the website:

One
artist influences another artist. The master's artists influences
many more. If someone imagine, "How can I get multiculture
information concisely?" nobody think about Brazil, but it was. Sao
Paulo city received so many important artists from around the World
and concentrated them in Sao Paulo. There, I was. I was looking for
artists to teach me not only techniques, but inspire me. In the
cultural belt of Sao Paulo (smelly Pinheiros River shore) we find
universities, art schools, art studios, cinema productions,
photographers, and... what else? Wonderful restaurants, good places
to seat and chat for hours. That was my educational place, enjoying
the Ibirapuera Park, Bienal of Arts or, seeing the mad man Pietro
Maria Bardi painting the asphalt of the jammed Paulista avenue. The
most influence on my artist career, in Pacaembu, the coolest people
are around there, including my college FAAP. Herbert Duschenes, from
Germany, architect; Evandro Jardim, engraver and sculptor; Jorge
Carvajal, Panama, designer; Ciro Saito, designer from Japan; Modesto
Farina, Italy, communicator; Eduardo Peñuela, Spain, cinema; Manabu
Mabe, Japan, artist; Eduardo Aquino, architect.
Isabel
Gouveia was born and raised in the countryside of
Brazil . She graduated from the Arts Foundation Armando Alvares
Penteado in Sao Paulo . She studied etching with Romildo Paiva and
Claudio Mubarac and painting with Paulo Pasta. Gouveia also works in
watercolor, mosaics and collage. She has shown her work in Brazil
since 1994 and now lives and works in the Florida .
Gouveia’s images come from observing nature and the arid savannas
of her native country. She distills and simplifies the elements of
nature forming metaphors of emotions and sentiments. Her art speaks
through her colors; representing the mysterious, loneliness, and
hopefulness of our interior life.
Margot Jannes pursued her early passion
for artistic expression by enrolling in Sao Paulo’s best “School for
Interior Design” in her native Brazil. Four years later she attended
the University “PUCC” in Campinas to study Art and then transferred
to the prestigious FAAP in Sao Paulo. She moved to France and
started her career in Nice, where she sharpened her skills as a
painter and incorporated many different techniques in search of her
own style and fulfillment. Later in Paris she completed several
advanced classes in painting and ceramics and partnered in a
business with a well known Parisian designer. Margot grew not only
as an artist but also as a person, discovering that the act of
painting was for her an attempt to reach places she still sought to
see. Her adventurous spirit took her on a tour of self discovery,
touring the Mediterranean coast, Europe and east coast of Africa.
The raw beauty she saw fueled her need to emphasize nature in her
paintings. Margot moved to the United States in the early nineties
and again worked alongside many designers. Recently she has retired
from the interior design world and is devoting full time to her art.
She now lives in Miami and is sharing her body of works with
modernata gallery.
