The Consulate General of Miami will only legalize documents issued within its
jurisdiction: Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The legalization can be done in two ways:
- Notarization
The Consulate recognizes the notary public or Secretary of State
signature
The document must be notarized by a Notary Public that is registered
at this Consulate General. If Notary Public is not registered at this
office, the document must also be certified by the Secretary of
State; or you can ask the notary to register at the Consulate.
The fee for legalizing signatures is US 20.00 per signature (US Postal
Service money order only)

The Consulate validates the document (only originals)
The fee for certification is US$ 20.00 per document, except for
school documents.

Payment
This office will only accept "US Postal money
order" (available at any US Postal Office branch), payable to
Consulate General of Brazil. Do not send cash, either for fee or
postage.
Documents by Mail
The Consulate General of Brazil will receive correspondence sent by the
U.S. Postal Service as well as all courier services (address the
envelope to the attention of the Legalization Section).
However, the Consulate will
only return
documents via the U.S. Postal Service, such as Priority or
Express Mail. Applicants must therefore enclose a self-addressed stamped
envelope for the return of their documents. The Consulate cannot be held
responsible for lost or delayed mail.
