Commerical Invoice

According to the Customs Regulations - Decree 91.030/85, commercial invoices presented to the Consulate General of Brazil for legalization must contain the following information:

Notarized signature of the exporter;
Full name and address of the exporter;
Full name and address of the importer;
Detailed specification of the merchandise in Portuguese and in English, containing the commercial and any other denomination the product may have;
Trade mark, number, and if possible, reference number of each volume;
Quantity and specification of the volumes;
Gross weight of the volumes (including the product itself, the recipient it is in, the packaging and any other  wrapping material);
Net weight of the product (without its receptacle, packaging and wrapping);
Country of origin (where the product was manufactured or where it underwent any major transformation);
Country of acquisition (the one in which the merchandise was bought in order to be exported to Brazil,  independently of its country of origin);
Country where the merchandise was at the moment of its acquisition;
Unit price and any discount or reductions of each type of merchandise and the amount and nature of such  discount or reductions in price given to the importer;
Freight and all other expenses in relation to the product or products specified in the invoice;
Terms and currency of payment.

In addition to the above the pro forma invoice presented to the Consulate General of Brazil for legalization must also contain the following information:

The following statement must be made in capital letters: "NO CATALOGS OR PRICE LISTS ARE PUBLISHED FOR THIS MERCHANDISE". "THIS IS NOT A SALE BUT AN OFFER OF PRICE AND AVAILABILITY";

The name of the agent, representative or distributor in Brazil. If there is none, the following statement must appear: "No agent, representative or distributor is involved in the present offer";

Specification of percentage or total commission paid to the agent (if applicable).

NOTE:

In case of an invoice covering vehicles, the numbers of the motor and of the chassis have to be mentioned explicitly in the invoice.

Due to federal regulations no invoices or pro forma invoices referring to used vehicles can be legalized.

Legalization fee is US $20.00. Only US Postal Money Order will be accepted.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The Consulate General of Brazil in Miami will continue to receive correspondence sent by US Postal Service, as well as all courier services. However, the Consulate will ONLY return documents via US POSTAL SERVICE such as: First Class, Certified, Priority or Express Mail. Therefore, you MUST enclose a self-addressed and pre-stamped envelope for the return of the documents. Documents WILL NOT be returned via any courier services such as: DHL, FEDEX, UPS, AIRBORNE and others. Do not send cash, either for fee or postage. The Consulate cannot be held responsible for lost or delayed mail.
